RE: Apex 8 vs Lance 825 vs Weight

montecarlo31 This will give you an idea of what a fully optioned, ready to camp weight will be for the Outfitter Apex 8. The truck is in my signature. The truck first with a full tank of fuel and my wife behind the wheel= Front: 4680# Rear: 3220# Plus me @ 210# = 8110# Next we weighed the camper and truck with my wife behind the wheel ready to camp full of water, propane, generator, clothes, food, etc.= Front: 4800# Rear: 6180# Plus me @ 210# = a grand total of 11,190# My GVW is 11,400# so I'm under by 210# loaded and ready for a road trip. The truck handles this weight VERY well with just the stock suspension. The Apex 8 is little heavier than my original estimate of 2915# but, not by too much... Options: Extended bunk (3) Group 31 AGM's custom battery box (2) 110w Solar panels Polar cub AC (2) Fans Honda 2000 Tundra fridge Slide out bunk/drawer 40 Gal water tank Microwave 2nd overhead cabinet

Hard side is a lot quieter ..... not a biggie in the bush but just try an overnight by the freeway or in a WalMart....Try an overnight by the freeway or in a WalMart in a hardside. ...Not a lot quieter. :E

Hi! First, Thank you all for the endless information I have gathered over the years. I finally decided to quit lurking and join in. I just had to say THANK YOU for that great picture. :B I'm waiting, impatiently, for our new Apex to be finished. Everyday I find a new Outfitter picture for my desktop background. Today's picture is over the top! I can't wait for the family to see this one.Welcome to the Clan :B

RE: fuel mileage

I don't think there will be a big difference between the fiver and a pop-up...maybe a small increase of 1 MPG or so... You will have a lower profile but the increase in mileage will be minimal.

RE: Outfitter - bunk ladder & carpet kit

Hello Mark, I dont have either so cant help you much here. I do have one comment regarding the ladder. We did consider the ladder but quickly decided against it as finding someplace for it to be became an issue we didnt want to deal with. We thought it would be easier to get into the over-cab area with the ladder but it turned out to be a non issue for us. I have seen the carpet kit in Steve_in_29's camper and it is nice. We just use a throw carpet and are satisfied with that...good luck. Ben

RE: Anyone know what truck these tiedowns fit?

Brandon, If those are Torklift brand hold downs email the picture to customer service and they can identify which truck they were manufactured for. I had the wrong set sent to me by a distributor and thats how we identified them. I'm not sure if they are or not... There's no markings on them. I've sent an email to torklift asking if they can identify them. They look like Torklifts to me...the ones sent to me by mistake didnt have any marking either. I'm sure they will be able to help you.

RE: camper height

To my knowledge there is no standard height for pick-up beds. My camper has 2X4's screwed to the bottom perimeter so that it doesnt hit the bed rails. What kind of treuck do you have?

RE: hallmark offering free tec work and advice

I'm feeling at this point kind of the same ...http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj190/whazoo100/animations/dead-horse.gif, that poor horse has been kicked to death. However I do feel Trails has the right to recruit his team for the World TC Volleyball Championships next week, somewhere cool like at the beach. All beer supplied by RVNET!!! (what am I saying?) Actually all beer supplied by Nemo!!! (there we go)...Levity is good Dave. ;)
